A Satirical Look Inside the Smoke-Filled Room
If second-hand smoke filled rooms were as dangerous as some indicate, I would have died before my fifth birthday!
Heck, even vitamin supplements can be hazardous to our health. There are not any laws against taking too many vitamins. Have you not read that unhealthy vitamin levels seems to predispose people to (1) diarrhea, (2) broken bones, (3) uncontrolled bleeding, (4) nerve damage, and (5) poor diet. Some imbibers think that by taking vitamins they can ignore eating a good balanced diet.
Respect for All
Respect is a two-way street. Why cannot non-smokers show more respect? Don’t you think that most smokers have already learned to respect non-smokers?
Politics & Public Relations
The Smoking Dilemma, particularly since the 1980s, has become a political and public relations issue. There has been fear mongering in the media. In California, anti-smoking TV ads are indeed financed…

feeling sick in Gardnerville Ranchos, Nevada.
I is go figuring . . .
Oh well, dog gone it, another sleepless night in this high desert of intellectual thought, good nutrition, quality medical care, and a viable safety-net.
My gut is severely spasming, during the last six hours, I have visited with two paramedics of the East Fork Fire Protection District in Douglas County, Nevada, two sheriff deputies (1st at about 1400 hrs on 2-14-15 and another great deputy about 0200hrs. on 2-15-15), as well as the entire security staff on-duty at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden, Nevada, and some other so-called ER support staff at the only “medical center” in this small metropolitan area located about 15 miles east o…f godly beautiful Lake Tahoe and the Mont Bleu Casino & Resort, Lake Tahoe, CA.
Well, the bottom line is that this environment of…

Country Corner store is more than an excellent deli, package store, and grocery. General Manager Bob Wehab has been assembling a terrific selection of California and international wines for more than two decades.

“Find of the Decade”:
Fine Wine, Fair Deals in West Menlo Park, California
At Country Corner Delicatessen
– 3207 Alameda de las Pulgas
Available today are at least eleven wonderful selections; many can be purchased for less than $10 retail.
For the connoisseur, Bob has more than four great values. Take for instance a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. How about buying two Napa Cabs?
- Caymus Cabernet (2003) that is rich tasting, full-bodied, and ready to open for only $139.99 per bottle!
- BV Georges De Latour (2006) Private Reserve that is indescribable great for $79.99!

Ulimatum for Minor Female Characters of the “Country Corner” Trilogy [TAKE NOTE: ‘Kathy Bates’ and ‘Debra Winger’ Characters]
just unbelievable!
I STILL THINK: Men ruler, Women rule . . .
This screenwriters’ hunger strike began today (Saturday, January 24, 2015) before 7:15 a.m. PST.
In addition, the screenwriter will never set foot in this store ever again, unless . . .
Therefore, these two bissyiness-meddling, “sexy”, gossiping, perhaps overweight, whatever-else, post-menopausal women MUST sell-out all their real estate ownings – WITHIN 100 YARDS OF THIS BUSINESS – AND leave this fine community that has probably the best deli, best wine selection, best three owners, best family-oriented business, best weather, best busy traffic, and best customers in the Americas.
Failure to do so will result in guilt, anguish, anxiety, danger, and many negative consequences (that largely will be self-inflicted). Yes, you Kathy. Yes, you Debra Winger character model icon to youth.

happy winter solstice 2014
The Solstice occurs today at 5:03 pm central standard time.
It hardly seems possible that the sun has finally ended its annual southern journey (with its progressively shorter days) and now turns northward again (with longer days to come).
I wasn’t planning on doing anything special for the Solstice until Friday, when I received an unexpected visit from Mike Dahl and his wife Lindsay, his parents Jon and Carol, and their son Michael who came up to Estrella Vista to invite me for Christmas dinner. Mike, as you may recall, is the now-grown Minnesota high school student who recognized me at the Grub Shack after more than 20 years.
So I invited them to join me tonight for a traditional Solstice bonfire and refreshments. Now there is an added excuse to light the Julleuchter and celebrate.

Dear Editors of the Aspen Daily News:
Thursday’s Daily News had one astute letter to the Editor – that by Carl L. McWilliams of Glenwood. Homelessness (house/apartment-less-ness) will not go away without a concerted regional (Garfield & Pitkin Counties) effort.
- The involvement of the Salvation Army is one viable solution mentioned by McWilliams [please refer to the post-script below].
- Law enforcement respect of the homeless and other disadvantaged citizens is another factor.
- In the American capitalist economy, I’d suggest grants and funding by venture capital firms (VC) from the San Francisco area. Keep in mind that VCs expect a return-on-investment.The entrepreneurial approach is another solution. Take note of the five benefits listed below:
Typically after VCs supply seed…
